The internship is paid for all billable activities, but the internship is intended to be more of a learning opportunity.

1-day Job Shadowing: Josh PS does encourage job shadowing for those hoping to learn about the profession. No experience is required, and this opportunity is generally offered once per month on a first come, first served basis. A typical day may include watching an architect work on a computer, talk on the phone, sketching, attending meetings, and probably swearing at printers. Transportation is the responsibility of the applicant. Contact Josh PS to get on the waiting list.

DISCLAIMER: Employees must understand that the construction industry is very volatile. A client can cancel a project at any time due to a myriad of reasons such as budget, feasibility, lease agreements, etc. In a small company such as Josh PS, this can cause the workload of an employee to suddenly stop, and a temporary or permanent layoff is possible. There is a lower likelihood of this in a larger company, but the employee accepts this risk. Smaller companies such as Josh PS also offer a more comprehensive work experience than a larger company since the employee will be immersed into all aspects of the profession instead of just one aspect which is typical of a larger company. This will enable our employees to learn more, gain more relevant experience, and become mature designers quickly.
